Tarragona

          (Amphitheater of Tarraco)

Last week I got the amazing opportunity to visit Tarragona. Tarragona (or Tarraco, the ancient name) used to be one of the most important cities during the Roman Empire within the Iberian Peninsula. In certain areas of this city some of the ruins are still intact. I absolutely loved learning about the history of this city. The beach was simply stunning. The ruins from the Roman Empire were breathtaking.

Finally arriving to the beautiful city of Barcelona!

Arc de Triomf on National Day of Catalonia (11 September 2015)

My first week in Barcelona has been wonderful!
I have finally settled with my host family and already gotten the chance to roam around the city. I must admit that my heart is absolutely fluttered and filled with joy! I am loving every aspect of this city. I am in love with the architecture, art, culture, people and so on. I am constantly forced to ask random people for direction and this has been doing wonders for my Spanish. I was a little surprised when I arrived and found that almost EVERYTHING is written in Catalan and not Spanish. Although Catalan is beautiful, it can be hard to understand. I'm immensely grateful that Barcelona will be my home for the next few months. Barcelona, you already have my heart!
